The Q:

Riverside Park

boot camp, Perrysburg

Boot camp style workout. On the River. Amazing way to watch the sun come up and start the day with sweat pouring over your rejuvenated soul. Some ramps, lots of steps, a little concrete, a little grass, all the fixens for beautifully scripted beatdown!

You have to park at Hood Park, Downtown Perrysburg, or one of the side streets (i.e. Cherry, Walnut, or Second Street).

    No FNG’s today.

It was a calm yet crisp morning on the edge of the beautiful Maumee river. YHC paused for a moment to take a deep breath and soak in the view while standing atop The Wall at Riverside Park. Excited and anxious YHC waited as the PAX came in one after another totaling 20 in attendance for the morning! We circled up at the base of the wall and reviewed our 5 core principles before getting started.

    Warm Up:
    10 SSH IC (2 per 4-count totalling 20)
20 Merkins IC (down for 3 counts up on 4)

We then mosey’d down the private drive to the base of the ramp near the statue of Colonel Perry and sprinted up the hill, circled back down to the base of the hill and did burpees while we waited for the six. Once all together we proceeded to jog back to the starting point and get into the workout for the day.

    The Thang:
The PAX counted off by 2’s to split into 2 groups. Group #1 started off on the Hill and Group #2 started off at the base of the ramp.

    Hill Circuit:
    *5 Rounds of the following*
    6 Hill Runs
    15 Decline Merkins
    15 Incline Diamond Merkins
    15 Leg Lifts

    Ramp Circuit:
-Crawl Bear up the first section of ramp.
-30 Squat Kicks alternating legs (15 each side)
–Austrailian Push-up Hold while waiting for the six
-Repeato up the second section of ramp.
-Repeato up the third section of ramp (YHC instructed the PAX to crawl bear as far as you could and then bear crawl the remaining as needed.) Shout out to Rooster as he was the only one from Group #2 to Crawl bear the entire stretch, Aye!
-Mosey back down…20 squat kicks at base of steps
-Continue to mosey…15 squat kicks in between first and second ramp.

The groups switched circuits and stayed moving until we were out of time. We circled back up for the COT to finish out the morning.

Prayer Intentions: For everyone traveling over the Holidays and their safety. For the Troops away from their families and for those who are lonely with no one to celebrate with. For Colt DelVernes and his family as he continues to fight cancer and be an inspiration for the community. For everyone’s health over the Holidays. For Yeti and giving him the strength to make it out to the workout after being a strong Dad in the late night / early morning.

-The PAX would have been at 21 today however nature was calling and not waiting on Crab Legs as he was forced to leave no sooner after arriving.
-YHC had a look alike (Possum) join us on the return mosey during warm-up which woke the remaining PAX up who were not yet awake. I believe Bourbon said it was going to be dinner later and Hustle said “not if i get it first.” #truthnugget
    – Shout out to Sylvania and Toledo PAX for coming out to the Wall to support as it made it feel even more like home 🙂
    – Special thanks to Woodstock and Stark for the quick and immediate feedback.

Thanks again for the opportunity to Q for such a strong group of leaders within the F3 Toledo PAX! YHC was most certainly humbled by the strong turnout this morning. Lets keep it going through the winter! F3 is truly re-invigorating male leadership in the community and this group is a testament to that. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you men.
