RADIATION RUCK

The ruck capped off the drive to raise funds for Bluto’s family. Bluto recently finished radiation for a rare form of cancer – he was diagnosed in May. He and his wife and 3 kids ages 10 and under skipped their summer vacation in the wake of this news and battle. Bluto is currently waiting on results from scans. Through his battle, F3 has come through to support Bluto and his family. This particular effort raised money by selling patches. Gulliver was instrumental in helping us procure the patches.
What was supposed to be a $7 patch was met with more value by the pax than I ever imagined. We made 100 patches, and our cost was around $2 per patch. I expected to be able to hand $500 to BLuto and his family from F3. Instead, the PAX went above and beyond, and donated over $2,000. Bluto’s family will be able to take a great trip over Christmas break, especially since they had to miss their summer trip.
Beaker led the ruck, starting at the lot next to Dunkin, and we got some easy, good miles, with a lot of Ruckership. This was about Bluto and showing love. The PAX have showed up for Bluto in several ways, and I am proud to be a part of this.
Some have told me thank you for putting this together, but F3 makes these endeavors easy. Mercy was just a conduit for the generosity and love poured into Bluto.
Beaker led an excellent route for the Ruck, and we ended with coffee tailgate in the lot we started in.
