What the ruck is a ruck?  A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

Welcome – F3 Mission and 5 Core Principles

Ruck with weighted packs, one Stars and Stripes shovel flag, one F3 shovel flag, one 35 lbs. kettlebell, one 20 lbs. kettlebell, and one 30 lbs. slam ball. Planned the items for approximately ten men to pass around, but the six we had were up for the challenge. We warmed up with 25 pack curls and then 5 manmakers with your pack. We then headed out down West Indiana Ave. and through Fort Meigs Cemetery. We proceeded down Maumee Western Reserve to the Maumee-Perrysburg Bridge.

Upon reaching the bridge we formed a line doing wall sits, each man at a post of the bridge wall, holding one of the five items with one man open at the front of the line. The man at the back of the line sprinted his item to the front and passed it off, then resumed a wall sit at the next post. The line moved in this way across the entire length of the Maumee-Perrysburg Bridge. Those flags looked majestic charging across the bridge and we received several honks and shouts of encouragement (or cursing, tough to tell). Upon reaching the end of the bridge we turned around and hauled the weight back the way we came. Total ruck distance – over 3 miles.

Prayer intentions for those impacted by hurricanes and wildfires, for some of Cobra’s family members, and prayers for Buttermaker’s mom. Prayer by Cobra to close out.

I rucking love rucking and it was awesome to see the strength in the men who posted today. I don’t think we would have got done in time two months ago.
