Boot camp style workout. On the River. Amazing way to watch the sun come up and start the day with sweat pouring over your rejuvenated soul. Some ramps, lots of steps, a little concrete, a little grass, all the fixens for beautifully scripted beatdown!

You have to park at Hood Park, Downtown Perrysburg, or one of the side streets (i.e. Cherry, Walnut, or Second Street).

    Jimmy Dean says:

PAX: Stark, Spaulding, Bambi, Crab Legs, Tupac, Buttermaker, Coal, Bourbon, Woodstock, Casper, Jimmy Dean

    QIC: Jimmy Dean

After going over the mission of F3 and the 5 core principles, the PAX got to work. YHC began by telling the group what the beatdown was so that the mental games could begin. As he tried to get the group to pair up for encouragement, it became apparent that the southern boys have trouble doing so as Woodstock called for the Q to do a count-o-rama.

It did not occur to YHC that I would need to have a count in order for men to partner up or get into a group of 3, but nonetheless I complied and we were able to get into groups.

At any rate, the beatdown began with 8 x 8ct body-builders before ascending the stairs of the Wall. At the top, we did 8 burpees before jogging back down the ramp. At the bottom, we did 7 8ct body-builders, ascended the stairs and 7 burpees at the top before jogging back down. Thus, we continued through 1 and 1. The last climb up the stairs were done as a bear crawl, adding to the extra fun of the morning’s beatdown.

Along the way, the PAX remained strong despite being relentlessly attacked by six-legged flying creatures that were determined to get into our mouths, eyes, hair, and nose. Several men were seen spitting, hacking, wheezing, and crying due to these flying creatures. YHC even had to run past this part of the ramp with his gloved hands covering his face.

We learned this morning that though Jimmy Dean can count when it comes to pairing up, he still doesn’t know how many steps are a part of The Wall. It was said that there were 63 or 64. Either way, the stairs proved to be a formidable foe for the group as they caused many to slow down with each iteration.

Those that finished went back for the six and finally time was called as an “all you got to the flag” battle cry could be heard over the sunlit sky.

The Perrysburg boys never disappoint with their vigor and determination to push themselves and each other, though it was questioned as to why Tupac felt that jorts (jean shorts) were appropriate workout attire.

Next was COR, NOR and know the 6. Buttermaker shared his gratefulness to be part of a group of men where he could learn from those further ahead of him in their life stages. He talked about how he wanted to glean wisdom from us older men so he could become better himself.

In the COT, prayers were lifted up for Jimmy Dean’s wife as she is out of the country, Riley (Gap’s son’s classmate), and other friends/relatives battling cancer or other illnesses.

Always an honor to lead this group of men who push me to be better every time I post. Special thanks to the boys down south for welcoming this guy from up north.

    Aye!

    THE THANG:

Warm-up (Reps determined by # of PAX, all 2 is 1, all done in cadence)
    SSH
    LBCs

In a circuit loop, each PAX does the following:
At the bottom of The Wall is 8 x 8-ct bodybuilders.
Runs up the stairs of The Wall.
At the top of The Wall is 8 burpees.
Mosey/jog back down the whole ramp to the starting place.
Repeato for a total of 8 circuits.
The last ascent up the stairs was done as bear crawls.
