Boot camp style workout. On the River. Amazing way to watch the sun come up and start the day with sweat pouring over your rejuvenated soul. Some ramps, lots of steps, a little concrete, a little grass, all the fixens for beautifully scripted beatdown!

You have to park at Hood Park, Downtown Perrysburg, or one of the side streets (i.e. Cherry, Walnut, or Second Street).

Thanks Again, and have a nice day!

It was a beautiful morning on the river. YHC and Dutch met up a little ahead of the beatdown for some pre-run action, and the river was a slightly fragrant sheet of glass. Temps were absolutely perfect. The courtyard in front of the Wall was free of goose/duck/river rat poop. Ah yes, the best AO in all of Toledo was all ready to welcome the PAX for glorious 1st F.

PAX started rolling in on time and ready to go, as they always do. 16 men chose to ignore YHC’s warning and post. These brave souls included: Bambi, Dutch, Casper, HazMat, Gepetto, Stark, Spaulding, Flo, Tupac, Coal, Gyro, Ponzi, Mulcahey, Chanel, Special Guest El Hombre, posting DR from ATL, and Woodstock (YHC).

Opened up with the 3 F’s, Mission, Principles, and Disclaimer.

Time for the AO to open up its waiting arms for a core and leg bonanza, inspired in part by a few PAX with upper body injuries, a recent beatdown that exposed some room for improvement on legs for a majority of the PAX, and YHC’s sick desire to have an entire beatdown with NO upper body. What better place than the Wall for this? Glorious steps, a bench perfect for jumping, and a nice straight speed track.

PAX counted off by 4’s, YHC took them on a tour with demo’s and left them to their devices.

Without further ado, I present the Thang:
Area 1 – a) Partner weighted twists – 25 (each PAX touches passes weight 25 times) – think rocky and apollo.
    b) Partner 1 does 30 ledge jumps – jump on the ledge 😉 while partner 2 does flutter kicks while holding weight above chest. Switch when partner 1 completes 30.

    Area 2:
    a) Partner 1 does 20 goblet squats while holding weight while partner 2 does lbcs, switch when p1 is done.

    b) Partner 1 – Box drill (10 each leg or 20 with both legs); – hop to the left, then back, then forward, then to the right, you should be back in original starting position. Alternate each set. while partner 2 does Frog squat jump – stand with feet wider than shoulders, feet pointed slightly out, drop it low and touch the ground then explode through jump – switch once p1 is done.

    Area 3:
    a) Partner 1 does sprint to the cone and back (~50ishM) while partner 2 does hello dolly’s. Switch. repeat 2x
    b) partner situps x 50 (modified to 25 each to avoid congestion)

    Area 4:
    a) Partner 1 goes to top of steps. Partner 2 holds plank or squat. Partner 1 repeats steps 3x, then switch.

The beatdown was set up as AMRAP, most completed 3 of 4 areas 2x and the 4th 1x, though some ambitious and competitive groups got all 4 2x.

Bonus round – all in cadence, 0 breaks:
    ALARM – A(rms) 50 shoulder presses; L(egs) 25 4 count Lunges; A(bs) 50 LBC’s, R exercise – 25 4 count Rosalita Wips (exicon this one, its awful), M exercise – 50 ‘Merican Hammers (close enough).

Ended with COR, NOR, the 6 was HazMat*, and lots of prayers for healing and help to Get, Live, Lead, and with perseverance Leave right.

*Truth be told, YHC started the count specifically so HazMat would be the 6. This HIM is an inspiration and a testament to the power of F3 IMO, and if you have the chance to hear his #was-now story do it. Thanks HazMat for the push today and sharing your story! Also, a big shout out to Hombre (we give him the honorary El) out of Atlanta. Here for 2 days and shows up to 2 beatdowns (maybe 3 – not sure about Pride Rock Weds night). Did the same thing a couple months back as well, catching a ruck and a beatdown. All in all, a glorious, beautiful morning at the #bestAO. Thanks again, and have a nice day.
