Boot camp style workout. On the River. Amazing way to watch the sun come up and start the day with sweat pouring over your rejuvenated soul. Some ramps, lots of steps, a little concrete, a little grass, all the fixens for beautifully scripted beatdown!

You have to park at Hood Park, Downtown Perrysburg, or one of the side streets (i.e. Cherry, Walnut, or Second Street).

    The Thang:
Inspired by a conversation in the parking lot after an epic beatdown by Tots–the gist was his beatdowns are like the Oregon Trail…’you don’t know how, but you are gonna die’. YHC realized this was a great platform on which to base a beatdown. Using the full potential of one of the finest AO’s around, PAX worked their way through a set of pioneer consequences: Broken Leg (Merkins), Dysentery (Squats), Cholera (LBC’s), Broken Wagon Wheel (Burpees), Chased by a Bear (run up and down the hillside), and Fording the River (suicide-style sprints to each landing back and forth up the stairs). Finally, as this is Pioneer life, it was possible to have a ‘death’ occur to one of your fellow travelers. If this card was drawn, the PAX member was to run the ramp in reverse and offer encouragement or kind words about any PAX member they passed as a ‘eulogy’. Additionally, there was bear crawling from station to station on the ramps and walkways, and at the top of the Wall, PAX ‘hunted’ for food by doing walking lunges.
The beatdown involved playing cards as multipliers and action cards and was a bit convoluted to start, but in the end, everyone seemed to have fun.

This backblast is quite late by now, but I guess in pioneer terms, it is probably on-time for an account of a cross country trip. Thanks to all of the men who attended and became better. Thanks for the opportunity to lead. – Casper
