Boot camp style workout. On the River. Amazing way to watch the sun come up and start the day with sweat pouring over your rejuvenated soul. Some ramps, lots of steps, a little concrete, a little grass, all the fixens for beautifully scripted beatdown!

You have to park at Hood Park, Downtown Perrysburg, or one of the side streets (i.e. Cherry, Walnut, or Second Street).

    The Thang:

Bourbon, YHC, rushed through the mission and principles on a cooler than normal morning as we began our jog with rucks. YHC explained that we would be jogging as best as we can in preparation for the Star Course challenge coming in early October. Montoya didn’t know what he got in to when he showed up.

We headed down the ramp to the bottom of the wall. On the way we were barked at by some feral dogs, or just two very nice dogs on leashes that wanted to play with us. We continued down the ramp to the bottom of the Wall and planted the flag for the beatdown later and Bambi also hid an extra ruck sack for Thumper who HC’d, but decided to fart sack this morning.

We began to jog toward Hood Park. On the way, we caught up to the feral dogs who were now frolicking while being off of their leashes. They wanted to play and of course we obliged their desire to check us out. As we continued our path to Hood Park, Bambi noticed a skunk on the other side of a tree the dogs were headed towards and warned the owner. She was very appreciative.

As we got to Hood Park, YHC explained that we would be jogging up the hill, around the grass at the top, then back down five times. We took off and put in WORK. Once that was complete, there was extra time. So YHC decided that we needed to run up the stairs, down the hill, then back up the hill and down the stairs three times. Again, nobody backed down and put in WORK. We did break for a few minutes in the middle of this last rotation to talk to a gentleman that was running the hill at the same time we were. We told him about F3 and he asked what we were training for. We explained the Star Course and he mentioned he was training for a 24 hour race in 3 weeks. We told him to check us out on the internet and show up soon. Then we continued our movements.

Finally we headed back to the Wall and caught our breath before the beatdown would begin.

In total, we covered about 2.75 miles (maybe a bit more) with an average pace of 15:32/mile, but that pace included the stops to talk to the dog’s owner and the hill runner that we were EH’ing.

Lots of great discussion was had in between catching our breaths. A true 2nd F workout was had and enjoyed.

COT / Prayers and Intentions: Thankful for the men of F3 and our abilities to be able to gather and workout like we do. Montoya’s wife and Montoya.

    The Thang:

    • Warmup with 21’s. As many rounds as it takes to complete together. 10 burpee penalty for each missed round.
o This took four tries and then YHC shut it down in disappointment. On the fourth fail, we reduced the burpee penalty to 5 burpees.
o The performance was so poor on this and ending at the same time that it MIGHT have taken the full beatdown time.

    • Start at 20 reps and work your way down…
o Even numbers are burpees, odd numbers are Captain Thors
o Complete the first set of exercise rep at the bottom of the Wall
o Climb the mountain (stairs), then karaoke to the top of the ramp and sprint down the ramp to the bottom of the Wall
o Complete next set of exercises and repeato until time expires

The SIX: Bambi – gave a great speech on what F3 means to him and ended with the top three ways he has changed since he first posted almost a year ago

COT / Prayers and Intentions: Many prayers for sick, death, healing, struggle. Many blessings with each other and this group and the ability to do what we do.
