What the ruck is a ruck?  A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the PAX.

    Fort Meigs Ruck
9 PAX (2FNGs) – Charmin, Monopoly, Shingles, Baxter, Tots, Virus, Stark – Welcome Haraz “Cerebus” Ghanbari and Kevin “ZigZag” Leininger
    QIC – Stark

Out of 9 men we had to share the blessings of 2 Shovel Flags, Betty the Bell, and Partner Carry a 5-gallon Sports Water Cooler. There was a lot of trading and team work to share the load. There was always someone willing to step up, nobody had to ask for relief. Impressive gents!
Started through the pitch black back entrance of Fort Meigs. Circumnavigated the hillside of the fort and out to Front Street. Headed down the main drag and made a bee line for “The Wall”. At the Wall we had a mini beat down.
1.) Hold Squat with pack still on, while we past 5 Gallon cooler. Each man had to curl 5 times and then pass to next PAX
2.) 25 X’s Flutter Kicks in cadence with pack held above chest
3.) 15 Man Maker Burpees lifting pack over head.

Load packs back up, get all our gear, head back to fort Meigs with a stop through the Necropolis. (No Zombie Deer or “Black Squirrels”) on this trip through.

Some strong prayers for more cancer. Virus’s long time co-worker just found out he has an advanced stage of cancer. Cooter’s father, all the others fighting diseases, and those men welcoming their first children into this world. Let us all be the strong men, father’s, husbands, friends, sons they need.
    Be Blessed Men!
