Q: Ticket
PAX: Klinger, Hustle, Bluto, Honeymoon, Mr. Belding, Splinter, Pixar, Ben Hanson (FNG), Froman, Wake, Cogsworth, Mailman, Scrooge, Box, The Fever, Springs, Sunshine, Chiles, The Hoff, The Colonel, Willie, Dauber, Ticket (Q), H2
24 PAX, including 1 FNG, rolled into the parking lot around 5:15 at Harroun Park on this beautiful moonlit morning ready for a ruckus around Sylvania. As warm-ups were about to begin, local law enforcement rolled up to shakedown the PAX. While The Colonel and Mr. Belding smoothed things over, Ticket reviewed the 5 principles of F3 and the warm-up began with our rucksacks on:
Michael Phelps on your own (OYO)
Side Stretches OYO
15 Side Straddle Hops
15 Imperial Walkers each leg
15 Plank Jacks with packs
With our body limbered up and blood pumping, we stepped off on our journey to the hills of northern Sylvania. As we approached Monroe Street, we quickly encountered our first hill on Main Street. We continued onto Maplewood Avenue and visited Plummer Pool / Burnham Park, where the PAX relived the Monday Murph with a mini-Murph with rucksacks on.
10 Pull-ups
20 Merkins
30 Squats
In any order
The PAX double backed up Maplewood and headed down Silica Drive toward Northview and beautiful Faith Hill. With a visit to Faith Hill, a bear crawl seemed appropriate. The PAX bear crawled up Faith Hill with their sacks on.
The PAX resumed their ruck down Silica and Convent toward Lourdes University, where we stopped for a brief ab workout:
10 John Travoltas each side
With dawn approaching, the PAX began the final leg of the ruck continuing down Convent to Main Street. We headed back toward St. Joe’s, continuing to Root Learning and the entrance to Harroun Park Trails. At the foot of the trail, the PAX began a jog toward the final hill. The PAX jogged up Suicide Hill and ended back in the St. Joe’s parking lot.
Splits were a little fuzzy as my watch conked out in the middle, and I didn’t pause it for the station work. However, with the station work, we averaged a 17:09 pace over 3.3 miles. It felt like a couple of minutes or so per station, so I’ll call it a 14:30 average pace on the rucking
We ended with a count-a-rama, name-o-rama, named our FNG (Yukon), and closed it out with Splinter leading the PAX in prayer, with prayer intentions for Mad Dog’s mother-in-law, the Boyle family, Splinter’s friend, who is having a baby, and for us to be better men.
It was an honor to lead you men today. Thank you for continuing to challenge me to improve myself.
