‘Rucksacks Welcome’ was the theme.
Da Q: Hustle
Da Pax: Mater, Kitty, Jeter, Commodus, Mayor, Mickey, Holth, Mole, Pixar, Private Pile, Beaker, Dirty, Hustle
Core principles were verbalized and we proceeded with SSH (in cadence), followed by merkins for our warm-up.
Da thang: rucksacks were brought by most of the pax, some having to utilize a cinder block or a weighted vest (nice work Mole!), since not all had a rucksack. There were 4 stations scattered around Faith Hill (2 at the top, 1 at the tree near the entrance, and 1 at the bottom of the hill). We divided into 4 groups. There was 1 rule, and that was you could not carry the rucksack in ‘standard’ fashion, on your back. You had to farmer carry it or carry any other way, from station to station.
Station 1: bicep curls using rucksacks
Station 2: sack swings
Station 3: man-makers
Station 4: standing overhead presses at the bottom of the hill. Then, bear hugged the rucksack, high-kneed it halfway up Faith Hill, then sprinted up to the top.
Sets 1 & 2: 20 reps
Sets 3 & 4: 10 reps
Sets 5 & 6: 5 reps
We continued non-stop until we finished (or nearly finished) all 6 sets. We circled up for some American hammers, starting with the rucksack on our right, doing 5 in cadence; then started with them on our left, doing 5 in cadence.
The 6 was Mickey. Then it was Holth. Like Houdini, Mickey ‘poofed’ into the 7th spot. I audibled, and since Mickey claims he’s ‘been the 6 a lot’, we had Holth do it. He was EH’d by ‘many guys’. He showed up strong today and continues to do so. He gave us his version of F3’s impact and how it motivates him. Aye!
Prayer intentions were verbalized, followed by the ‘Ball of man’ final prayer.
Thanks to those who showed up this morning, in the gloom and fog. I am always honored to lead a beatdown and great group guys. It is truly a privilege.
Over and out. Aye!
