    WHAT. A. BEAUTIFUL. EVENING!!!!

Gear check: YHC had his Dawg House shorts (burgundy), that’s right – shorts! With a t-shirt on for the first day of 2019 above 50 degrees.

    The Thang:
The night was glorious and while the HC list on groupme stated 19 pax HC’d YHC was happy to see 29 men posting. The original plan was station work with a lot of heavy weight with some bodyweight burpee fun and abwork in between. YHC quickly realized that was going to be a wee bit of a challenge with 10 extra pax and trying to figure the best way to organize the beatdown plan. This realization was quite apparent when in the first 2 minutes prior to 7:30 start YHC was getting major crap for checking his playlist….

Core Principles, welcome to FNG – Wes with explanation of you vs you, what F3 Toledo is about, etc, etc. Geppetto felt the need to remind the Q to ask about any new guys, which YHC was about to do b/c we allow for some flexibility in the order of principles and such at the AO called Pride Rock…

Since we were blessed with great numbers and problematic attendance YHC did a Omaha and audibled.

Quick mosey around the big parking lot to warm-up, some SSH in correct cadence and then the beatdown began:

One parking island to another (~65 yards per google maps measurement) we would sprint as a pax… Before each sprint YHC would call out an exercise to be done in cadence, then we line up and on the Q’s annoying yell of “GO!” we all sprint. Wait for the 6 to get back to the line and call out the same exercise in cadence, line it up and sprint back to start….

Exercises done in cadence throughout the beatdown:
Burpees – many times (b/w 7-10 each time)
Merkins – many times (b/w 10-30 each time)
Situps – tough to do well in cadence… (10)
    Stump Huggers (10 each time)
SSH (20 each time except for the one time we did 44)
    Smurf Jacks (20)
    Squats (10)

Did over 100 burpees and 150 merkins throughout and covered over 2.5 miles of sprints in b/w the PT. Pax was encouraging each other and pushing hard throughout – shoutout to Klinger and Pixar for encouraging and telling guys to stand up strong and keep it up. Was a fun one and YHC realized how much fun/awful it is to do 40+ minutes of cadence when your constantly catching your breath from sprints.

29 strong showed, 28 expected weights and station work but the weights were never touched….

Respect to all pax that showed up and showed out! All put in some major work and apologies to Scrum for telling him pre-beatdown that there would be little to no running.

    COR, NOR,

FNG – Wes – got the name “Curves” b/c he let it be known that he hits the gym hard and that is his hobby. Plus he was brought there by Minnie and that nickname is a hell of a lot better than Minnie so there’s that.

The 6 – awesome to see one of our most committed and strongest pax back in the fold – Splinter made his return and did a hell of a job during the runs/PT.

COT – tons of prayer requests and YHC took us home with prayer to skyQ

Always an honor to Q and appreciate everyone’s work and willingness to push through the audible. At least we didn’t do any donkey kicks or bear crawls…..
