What the ruck is a ruck?  A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

Opened with Mission and Core Principles along with COR.
Pax chose whether to ruck or run
Pax – (Ruckers) – Tupac, Ponzi, Bambi, Buttermaker, Hazmat, Flo, BooBoo, Casper, Jenna. (Runners) – Bourbon, Tots, Q*Bert, Stark, Venom, Shrinkage, Spotlight

Ruck Objective was to ruck to the Way Library and back while carrying the coupon (Charlotte) and using crossing guards.

Pax met the time objective but missed crossing guards at several points. Upon arriving at the first waypoint, a penalty of 50 merkins was assigned with packs on. No penalties for the return trip.

Met back up with the run pax (after a quick rainbow photo op for Bambi).

Runners ran to Rivercrest Park. Down Fort Meigs road the lead gazelles would turn around and run to the 6 at the end of each guard rail lining the road. This helped keep the PAX in a tight group. Then once the lead runner hit Rivercrest they went around the loop to the right, while the second group went to the left. This is another feature to keep the PAX crossing by each other. Headed back to Fort Meigs and lead group again would circle back to 6 at each guard rail. Ended with a couple “drag races” while we waited for ruckers to return. Drag Race consisted of 10 burpees, 20 mountain climbers, 20 Merkins and then a Sprint to end of the cars in the parking lot. Repeato down and back until Ruckers returned. I think we only got two rounds in. Also basked in the glory of a brilliant rainbow while we waited.

Completed COR and NOR – Heard from the 6 (Flo) and ended with COT.

Announcements were that Wednesday Beatdown would be at Rolf Park for the following day.

Moleskin – Tots ran with a 20 lb vest. YHC (Stark) did all I could to gain some ground on him in the final mile. That SOB kept pace on my heels for the entire last mile burnout. He clocked a 7:42 mile with a 20 pound vest after running 3.5 miles already. The dude is an absolute stud!
