What the ruck is a ruck?  A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

Honor the Warriors that Shouldered the Load for OUR Independence:

A couple of PAX separated from te group and took off on a 4-5 mile run. The rest of us Rucked up and then immediately removed our rucks from our shoulders. This no coupon ruck had only one rule…and that was no rucks on your shoulders. PAX were seen employing several different strategies including the one arm farmer carry, bear hug, straps on your elbows from the front, waist strap secured and packs on elbows from the back, etc. Not a single PAX maintained their pack in the same spot for even half the ruck.

The PAX made our way to the intersection of Front and Boundary and continued toward the bridge over the Maumee River. 100 yards from the turn into the back of the Fort, the Q called out for packs to be over head until the PAX made the left turn toward the fort. All PAX pushed through this requirement.

From there the ruck made its way to the back side of the Fort, up the hill and through the North interior side of the fort. The Ruck finished up at the parking lot with 10 minutes to spare. FOr the remaining 5 minutes the Ruck and Running crew joined back up. Ruckers handed off their packs to runners and 5 minutes of Ruck PT ensued.

Ended in a COT with Count-o-Rama and Name-o-Rama.

Gipetto was the 6; EH’d by Colonel ad waited a year to show up to a workout for the first time, he got his name because he worked at a furniture company. He keeps coming back for the the encouragement and appreciation he has for everyone in the group.

Bambi Led the Prayer: Prayers were specifically offered for Jennays neighbor who lost their home to a propane explosion, Bourbons daughters arm that it will heal quickly and Leiderhosen as he battles cancer.
