What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.
5k Ruck
The Thang:
Started the morning off with The Mission, 5 Principles and Disclaimer. Did a Count O Rama. We embarked with the goal to hit 5k this morning and we did. Had a 5 minute rotation that kept the 2nd F fresh through the beautiful sticky gloom.
12 PAX:
Bryan “Coal” Geha, Dan “Casper” Kubacki, Brian “Ponzi” Coil, Jake “Jennay” Wittmer, Craig “Bambi” Springer, Dave “Flo” Walbom, Jonathan “Bourbon” Burns, Eric “Buttermaker” Kartman, “Dutch”, Daniel “Mile High” Cordova, Scott “Gepetto” Schutt,
Q. Ryan “Haz-mat” Wilson
Ended in C.O.T.
The “Six” was Dave “Flo” Walbom
Prayed a prayer of thankfulness for the men who came out, families recovering from loss and our military and first responders.

The Thang:
Bourbon, YHC, rushed through the mission and principles on very humid and warm morning as we began our jog with rucks.
We took off on a 3.33 mile ruck to Davis Overlook where we descended and climbed the hill 4-5 times (YHC can’t remember, probably blocking it out). This ruck was a ruck designed for speed as we jogged almost the entire time and averaged a 10:49 pace for the entire ruck. Chew Toy and Thumper led the way as YHC and Bambi tried to catch our breath on the steep part of the incline. All showed up and showed out.
Lots of great discussion was had in between catching our breaths. A true 2nd F workout was had and enjoyed.
Count-O-Rama and Name-O-Rama
Learn about the 6: postponed to after the beatdown
COT / Prayers and Intentions: Thankful for the men of F3 and our abilities to be able to gather and workout like we do. Kayla, Ashley, and Bambi’s growing family.
