What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

5:30 a.m.-6:30 a.m.
Welcome, Mission Statement, Core Principles
Pax:
Bambi, Huffy, Ponzi, Hazmat, Slurpee, Casper, Slip (FNG), OK (FNG), Bongo (Q)
The Thang:
Q allowed for Casper to “Sherpa” the PAX, and choose the route we took, as Q is still terrible with directions. Casper chose the route, and PAX took off.
During the travels, Q called for a rotation every 5 minutes, with each row of 2 x 2 sliding up one row, taking the lead, and the front row coming to the back and switching sides. This left for many opportunities for everyone to lead the ruck, as well as to carry “Old Glory”. Bambi stated that he didn’t care for the rotation, but we continued anyway.
Pax put in “damn near” 3 miles (2.8 to be exact) at around a 16:50 pace. Pretty quick, but not enough to run off out FNG’s.
Finished back at Necropolis approx. 6:15 to leave time for naming of FNG’s.
COR, NOR, Know the 6, followed by naming two FNG’s (Slip and OK).
Huffy was the 6, talking about his EH-ing, and the reasons that he comes back (the push, faith, and fellowship)
COT with announcements for the Playground Initiative and the Party on 3/14 (Thanks Stark for explaining to the new guys), as well as the laundry soap workout and donation next Monday at all AO’s.
Prayers were sent up for troops, first responders, Flo and his recent diagnosis, and to protect us all throughout our day and week.
It was an honor to lead, and until next time I remain,
Bongo
