What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

The Thang: we rucked in the woods east of Harroun Park for 1.5 miles at a steady pace. We couldn’t just ruck though, we had to add in some ruck PT. On the bridge we did 60 American Hammers with the rucksack (4 is 1).
After the short ruck, we gathered in the grass south of the parking lot and did the following.
5 Burpees at light pole
Bear Crawl 30 yards

Run to west side of building and do 20 (4 is 1) American Hammers with the rucksack
Run back to beginning
10 Inchworms at light pole

Run to west side of building and do 20 (4 is 1) Flutter Kicks with the rucksack
Run back to beginning
Next we did a 50 yard bear crawl. Each PAX planked while the six bear crawled to the front of the line. We did this to “cool” down.
