The thang:
Ultimate Frisbee and touch football. Teams were blind draw of wrist bands and broke down as follows:
YHC, Shakira, Tupac, and our token Sylvania guy Jimmy Dean (WTSJD)
Vs
Rooster, Bourbon, Bambi, and their token Sylvania guy John Henry. (RBBJH)
The best laid plans… Though the weather outside was frightful… Blame it on the rain…
8 PAX showed up for what was planned on being an inter-AO game day, winner takes home a sweet championship belt. Well, mother nature won.
Ever thrown a frisbee in 45mph wind gusts? Tried to complete a couple tosses in sustained 20+ mph wind? Never mind the freezing cold standing water and completely saturated AO.
Add in “modificatins” of 5 merkins for every turnover and 5 burpees for every score.
But we tried. Team RBBJH even managed to score. Lost count of how many Merkins we did until that mod was dumped.
Switching to football was not much better, though there were some ingenious scoring plays and trickery that would make Boise State proud.
While the games were sloppy, and the weather was beyond terrible, it was still a good time and I look forward to doing it again (in MUCH better conditions and with hopefully more PAX).
Ended in a COT and prayed for Healing, friends and family. And spring.
