Boot camp style workout.

Typical routine: warm-up with Merkins, stretching, side-straddle-hops, etc.  Then proceed to the playground equipment and/or field for running mixed with strength training.  Finish off with the C.O.P (circle of pain) for merkins, planks, ab work, supermans, etc.

SATURDAYS always followed up with 2nd F (fellowship) at Executive Diner on Sylvania.

    No FNG’s so right into Mission and Principles:
    F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
    Mission – Plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
    The core principles of F3 are that it must:
    • Be free of charge
    • Be open to all men
    • Be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
    • Be led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
    • End with a Circle of Trust

    Warm up:
    (20) Side Straddle Hops in cadence, (20) merkins OYO, (20) Mountain Climbers in cadence and (20) arm circles each direction in cadence. We then ran through Close Park across the street to the Start High School parking lot for (20) squats in cadence and (20) Dandelion Pickers in cadence. We then ran back to the Close Park parking lot for partner Hello Dolly Jump overs, 20 each PAX, followed by the Motor City Shuffle from the edge of the parking lot to the edge of the playground mulch and after a ten count we motor city shuffled back to the edge of the parking lot. A Motor City Shuffle is: lunge, lunge, burpee, merkin, plank jacks, frog hop forward = 1.

    The Thang:
    Animal Baseball Ascending BLIMP inspired around bases (at each base)

    5 Burpees — bear crawl
    10 jumping lunges — crab walk
    15 merkins — Groucho’s
    20 Plank jacks — duck walk

    Cool down:
    Heels to heaven
    Fire hydrants 20 each side IC
    James Bond

    Time was called and we circled up for:

    Count-O-Rama – Ten
    Name-O-Rama
    Sharing of the six – Hoyle – EH’d by Romano. Got his name for his jumping abilities like Billy Hoyle in White Men Can’t Jump. Lives close by and is happy to be a part of the group. It is something that he needs.

    Announcements: F3/FiA family cookout coming up and Bedford 5K with a beatdown in August.

    Ball of Man – Prayers for Dauber’s brother and mother who have knee issues. Prayers for Rocco’s ex coworker. Prayers for Houdini’s wife and her continued recovery and for comfort for Roosters family. Prayers for all of the fathers out there.

    Spreadsheets from the Gloom: Low sixties, no wind, very light drizzle for a few minutes of the beatdown. Always a good time at the Oasis. Loved seeing the home AO guys along with Gap’s son and a newer PAX Hoyle. Thanks to Extra Extra and Beaker for making their way from Sylvania to Toledo.

    It was and always is an honor to lead.
