What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.
Backblast – January 8th, 2019
AO: The Necropolis – Fort Meigs Historic Battlefield – Perrysburg, OH
PAX: Geppetto (QIC), Bourbon, Flo (respect), Huffy, Casper, Patriot (Respect x’s 2), TuPac (Respect), Chew Toy
Workout: The End of an Era
No FNG’s so right into F3 Mission and Core Principles:
F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission –Plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it must:
• Be free of charge
• Be open to all men
• Be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
• Be led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
• End with a Circle of Trust
Count-O-Rama to ensure we end with the same number we start with – Eight.
The “Thang”: Rucked to Orleans Park via Perrysburg Riverwalk for a recap of Urban Meyer’s tenure at OSU and related PT. Then rucked back to Fort Meigs. Covered 2.90 miles.

Sharing of the six – Flo. EH’d by Cedar Creek/Tots. Named “Flo” because he is a State Farm insurance agent. Comes out for the fellowship and his true care for the other PAX. Aye!
Announcements – Evening beatdown at Levis clocktower and 2nd F following at Bar Louie. Winter Challenge ongoing. First Q Source discussions this Friday at Ft Meigs YMCA. Encourage others to attend! TClaps for Casper and his organization of last Sunday’s impromptu ruck. He is looking to do the same again this Sunday.
Ball of Man – Prayer of thanks for the great morning. Prayers for Huffy and his friend who recently passed away. Prayers for Houdini as his wife battles cancer. Prayers for the upcoming Q Source discussions and that they assist in making us better leaders for our families, at our jobs and in the community.
Spreadsheets from the Gloom: 50 degrees with a slight wind. Unbelievable weather for January. Always honored to lead this group of HIM’s!

The Thang:
We first joined with Geppetto and the ruckers for the Core Principles.
Once we split up from the ruckers, Woodstock and Jennay stretched while Dutch figured out how to unlock his car without keys.
From the Necropolis we ran down to the Commons. We noticed that Bar Louie was closed and ran back to Necropolis. Some great conversations were had.
