What the ruck is a ruck?  A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

‘Keep on Ruckin’ should have been called ‘Ice Rucking’. Rain last night. 15 degrees in the gloom (but fells like -5 degrees).
Began with the F3 Mission Statement, Core Values and the Disclaimer followed by a Counterama.
Had 11 in the PAX. 2 runners and 9 ruckers.
Had to do an audible due to the icy conditions and Rucked the neighborhood to the west of Fort Meigs with no coupons.
We discussed leadership at the start of the ruck and let the conversations flow from there.(Lizards, Bullfrogs and Leaches oh my!)
We got in 2.68 miles in very slippery conditions. With one slip and fall, but no damage.
Finished in the Circle of Trust. Everyone was accounted for. Tupac was the Six. He kept it short due to the cold weather.
Announcements were brief with the probable cancellation of tomorrow’s beatdown. Prayer intentions were for Landslides’s wife Kathy and her recovery, and all the people who will be caught out in the cold weather tomorrow.
    Ruck PAX was:
    Huffy
    Tupac
    Patriot
    Bourbon
    Bambi
    Flo
    Landslide
    Huckleberry
    Mile High
    Run PAX was:
    Woodstock
    Dutch
Lesson Learned: Have a contingency plan to deal with different weather conditions.
As always it was an honor the lead the PAX!!

F3 Mission: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith; To plant, serve and grow men’s small workout groups, in order to invigorate male community leadership

    Principles of F3:

    • It must be free of charge

    • It must be open to all men

    • It must be held outdoor, rain or shine, hot or cold

    • It must be peer led in a rotating fashion by men who participate in the workout, with no training or certification necessary

    • It must end with a Circle of Trust (COT)

    The Thang:
We first joined with Huffy and the ruckers for the Core Principles.

Woodstock and I took off towards the commons while the ruckers headed towards downtown.

There was plenty of ice on the sidewalks and quite often or feet were slipping. Facemasks kept freezing in the wind, especially by the commons. By the time we made it back to the necropolis, the ruckers were in sight and we were getting the last 1/4 mlife of a 5 mile run.

We joined up with Huffy and the rest for COT.
