   10/30/18 Ruckus Backblast

   12 men posted on this fine Autumn day to participate in the best ruck in town. YHC had some fun plans for the morning, so we wasted no time in getting things started. At precisely 0515 hrs, we stepped off and made our way down into Harroun Park. As we were traveling, YHC went over the 5 core principles of F3 and a brief disclaimer. We continued through the park, towards Harroun Rd, and continued along the new trail by Flower Hospital. We covered the first mile in 15:29. At this point, we turned around and retraced our steps to the start point. As we turned, Deuce was coming up on our 6, as he was late in arriving. Time waits for no man. Second mile was completed in 14:15 – way to push it!

   Back at Harroun parking lot, YHC had a pleasant surprise in for the PAX. The logs that were used for the St. Patrick’s Day ruck were stored in the area. YHC led the PAX to them and had them pull out 2 logs. We took them back to the parking lot and commenced about 10 minutes of log PT. Can’t remember exactly the exercises, but overhead presses, squats, curls and more overhead presses were done. We then put the logs back in storage and headed out back rucking.

   We went South on Main St., West on Convent, into Lourdes University, across the train tracks behind St. Joseph, and then through the parking lot and back to the start point. 3rd mile of rucking done in 14:36.

   YHC led BOM with some words of encouragement to keep trying our best with raising our families. We may not always make the right decisions or say the right things, but if we concentrate on wanting to do the right thing, then it will eventually happen. If our hearts are in the right place, then we are on the right path.

   Since it was YHC’s birthday, Mickey insisted that we do Merkins or else it would be bad luck. Froman was kind enough to call them out.
