What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

The Thang:
After weeks of either taking the bike path to not get lost or getting lost in Wildwood, I decided to keep it some what simple. The plan was to get 3 miles of rucking in along with some PT. To get our mileage, we took 12 laps around Stranahan Elementary. Each lap went as follows:
1 Ruck 1 lap
2 20 merkens then a lap
3 Ruck overhead carry during the lap
4 20 thrusters then a lap
5 20 ruck swings then a lap
6 Suitcase carry on one side during the lap
7 Suitcase carry other side during the lap
8 10 ruck swings then a lap
9 10 thrusters then a lap
10 Ruck overhead carry during lap
11 10 merkens then a lap
12 Ruck 1 lap
The 5 HIM that joined me this morning put for an amazing effort. I think the overhead carry during the lap was underestimated while I was putting together the workout.
We ended with our COT consisting of COR, NOR, announcements, and prayer intentions.
