Boot camp style workout at the Shops at Fallen Timbers. Group will meet next to the movie theater. Easy access to the Wabash Cannonball Trail for some running or rucking. Also, plenty of blacktop to make use of, not to mention a little green space across from the theater.

Intro – 5 core principles and description of workout.

Since it is 2020, 20 was going to be the rep count for some exercises. Since it was close to Christmas, the 12 Days of Christmas was going to be inspiration – a backwards pyramid of sorts.

3 cones were set up in the parking lot – the base line, the 1st line, then the 2nd line.

Each day of Christmas was represented by 1 exercise. The workout was to be completed like the song is sung. Complete the 1st day, then complete the 2nd day and 1st day. Then complete the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st days, and continue climbing to day 12, then working back down all the way back to day 1.

This was inspired by a sandbag ruck workout, so there were 6 sandbags and a few cinder blocks for the pax.

    1. Half baked suicides – run 2 cones
    2. Walking Lt. Dans to 1st cone and back
    3. Sandbag carry to the second cone and back
    4. Sandbag squats – 20 reps
    5. merkins – 20 reps
    6. 4 count flutter kicks – 20 reps
    7. Side straddle hop – 20 reps
    8. bear crawl to first cone and back
    9. thrusters – 20 reps with sandbag or block
    10. absolutions – 20 reps
    11. calf raises – 20 reps each legs
    12. leap frog burpees to second cone and back.

Woodstock and Roster were very close to finishing the entire set. I was unsure how long this would take, so I had some finishers planned, but we didn’t get to that point. I like this format a lot, and want to use it again in the future. There’s a lot of flexibility in it. the sandbags we used were 60s and 40s.

    COT – the 6 – Rooster.
