Have to admit as I checked in on HCs the night before and they numbered only 6 I was a bit distraught. Where were the double figures of my past Qs? Is this how Color Me Badd felt after the follow up to “I want to sex you up?”
Accepting my fate as a has-been, I focused on a fun little 45 minutes for the fortunate half-dozen who posted the following morning. At 5:15 I placed the cones in the parking lot; Scrooge came roaring in and worked on some defensive driving. The Mailman rolled out of the passenger’s side – he must have slept in his driveway to get here this early from Sylvania. I pulled into the lot to see Brute and Colonel’s beautiful twin domes waiting for me.. Chanel, who happens to be my boss in real life and enjoys waking up early about as much as I appreciate picking up dog shit, was there with his BIL Mulcahy. I reviewed the 3Fs and core principles as we did Phelps and arm circles. Like Chuck Knoblauch throwing to 2nd base, I yet again I omitted F3’s mission. I reviewed the origin of Big Gus ( He was a DT for the Bulldogs when I was QB for the Fighting Irish – he spent the entire game saying “I’m coming for you #18, I’m coming for you; making me feel a bit like Shooter McGavin when Jaws threatens him. Sidenote -Unlike Shooter the Irish did prevail in the end. ) Today I told the PAX – That Big Gus would be coming for us and we would have to stick together to prevail.
