Typical routine: warm-up with Merkins, stretching, side-straddle-hops, etc.  Then proceed to the track and/or field for running mixed with strength training.  Finish off with the C.O.P (circle of pain) for merkins, planks, ab work, supermans, etc.

    Warmup: 20 x SSH in cadence (2 is 1), 20 x Windmill in cadence (2 is 1), 10 x Chain Breakers in cadence (4 is 1)
    This is WAR!
    Using the F3 workout deck of cards, we played the card game WAR.
    Separate the PAX into 2 groups.
    A representative from each group comes to the table to play.
    *How to play
    • If 1st card flipped are not the same, high card is winner
    o “Winners” perform the exercise on the winning card. “Losers” run (approx 200yds)
    o When the runners return, the first PAX back join the exercise until the SIX returns.
    • If first cards flipped are the same, put 1 card face down, and 1 car face up. High face up card is winner
    o Entire PAX performs the exercises on each winning team’s cards (15x per exercise)
    • If a “Joker” card is turned up for either team…on the line for suicides (5 lines, approx 50yds between base and end line)
    Mumblechatter:
    18 PAX showed up on a cold Sunday morning to get better! Before getting started, I put out the call to the group to focus on quality of the reps, not just the number of reps. The group really embraced the concept of the workout and even modified some of the “run sets” to include sprints, inchworms, broadjump burpees, bearcrawl, and running backwards. Before 1 of the rounds, the 2 pax drawing cards put a wager on the round…loser had to run suicides. These men got better today.

    A future workout will remove the run for the losers and will incorporate a wager before each round. 18 of the 19 men went to Tim Hortons for fellowship (2nd F) afterwards. It was truly a pleasure leading this group of men!
