Affectionately coined Faith Hill since it is one of the few hills in Toledo area. Bootcamp style workout that typically takes advantage of the hill during the 45 minute beatdown.
SET THINGS RIGHT
Weather: 44F partly cloudy, dark
PAX: Beaker, Tupac, Colonel, Trinity, Splinter, Mole (6), Mayor, Toothpicks, Trojan, Johnny, Bagels, Smails, Ozzie, Pixar, Scrooge, Cogsworth, Pinewood (Q)
Circled up at 0530 for the 5 CPs, Creedo and mission. Warmed up with 20x SSH, 10x Merkins, 20x LBC and 10x Burpees all in cadence. Then we did a 2 line indian run around the school ending up back at the flag. Focus today was picking up the 6 – no matter if they are merely feet away or miles away. Nobody rests as long as somebody is working hard and struggling.
THE THING:
Simple out and back – 3 stops along the way then repeat the same reps on the way back. Looks like this:
Start with 1 rep
Run halfway to the street and do 5 reps
Run to the stop sign and do 10 reps
Run to the bridge and do 15 reps
Back to the stop sign do 10 reps
Head halfway up and do 5 reps
Then back at the start finish with 1 rep
Exercises were: Merkins, Squats, Carolina Dry Docks, BBSU, Wide merkins
Following the second round, a few PAX failed to pick up the 6 and decided to talk and wait instead. We circled back up for 5 burpees with a 6th one added as one PAX member decided to skip the 5th one.
Following the third round we took a 60 second plank break and then finished up the exercises.
Ended the beatdown with an indian run, to the back lot to get a few more rapid cadence exercises in and a final sprint to complete things.
Circled up for the CoR and NoR. Mole came in with a 6 that all of us can understand about needing this group and having these bonds.
I closed by reminding all the HIMs to not stand there and catch your breath while you watch somebody struggling. Get your ass over there and help them out. We really don’t know what other PAX may be going through. Picking up the 6 doesn’t always mean be there to help push through a beatdown. Picking up the 6 means we are there for our brothers no matter what they are fighting in life.
