Affectionately coined Mount Doom since it is one of the few hills in Toledo area. Weight training workout that typically takes advantage of the hill during the 60 minute beatdown.

    What: Next Man Up

    When: 2/9/19 @ 6:30

    Where: Mt. Doom

    Q: Billy Bob

PAX: El Chappo, Bozo, Tweety, Jake the Snake, Bambi, Mercy, MacMurray, Bourbon, Bluto, Wake, Geppetto, Smails, Mickey, Mr Belding

On Wednesday, 2/6/19, Bluto reached out to the PAX in need of a HIM to step up and Q this fine morning. I felt the call and decided to be the Next Man Up. It was a little brisk this morning. Temperatures hung in the low teens and I knew when I looked at the weather forecast this past Wednesday, we would need to keep moving. I did inform the men that I would stick to my usual no burpee workout, but was told by one of the PAX that my beatdown was a bait and switch.

Although no burpees were done, I did incorporate some running which I very rarely do. Here was the plan:

As today’s date is 2/9/19, I wanted to push to get 2,919 reps in. I had the PAX count off.We started with 14 and 1 member showed late. I matched up 1 with 8, 2 with 9, 3 with 10, etc. As one member from each team was doing the exercises, the other member ran the width of the practice field at the bottom of the hill.
    The breakdown is as follows:
    250 each of
    Side Straddle Hops
    Merkens
    Squats
    Flutter Kicks (1 is 11)
    Curls (1 is 1)
    Tricep Extensions
    American Hammer (1 is 1)
    Front Raise (1 is 1)
    Side Lunge (1 is 1)
    Standing Upward Fly

Those 10 exercises would be 2500 reps. Then 19 planks were added for a total of 2519. After all of the exercises were completed, the PAX was going to run a cumulative 400 yards to get us to 2919.

Although we did not get in all 2919 reps, the PAX continued moving the whole hour. As the time was coming to an end, I held the PAX at one sideline. Once everyone returned I had all members run sideline to sideline one last time.

We ended with COR, NOR, Mercy as the 6, Announcements, and Prayer Intentions. Thank you for this opportunity to lead you this morning.
