Meet the Standard Backblast

20 PAX joined YHC in the gloom and were ready to Meet the Standard! YHC made it clear that the standard to be met on this day was the Army Physical Fitness Test. One FNG was present (Justin ), and he was warmly welcomed and clearly provided with the 5 core principles, a disclaimer, and the mission of F3.
Warm Up: Side Straddle Hop x 20, Imperial Walker x 15, Windmill x 15 – all done in cadence
Mosey to East side of the track underneath the bleachers (lots of good light and some protection from the wind). YHC proceeded to explain the details of the APFT: 2 minutes push-ups, 2 minutes sit-ups, 2 mile timed run. Sounds pretty simple but is a max effort so can be intense. PAX were split up in teams of 2 and one PAX performed the exercise while the other counted reps. Strict attention was paid to form and proper performance of each rep. Once the push-ups and sit-ups were complete, we moved to the track for the 2 mile run (8 laps).
Top Performers:
Push-Ups – Hacker (FNG): 100 reps
Sit-Ups – Extra, Extra: 75 reps
2 Mile Run – Brita: 15:01

Name FNG – Hacker was chosen as the name because he’s active duty Air Force and works in cyber warfare.
BOM – YHC led prayer with a reminder to live up to the standard in all aspects of our lives, not just in physical fitness.
